The Showdown is the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania's premier sailing event for keelboats and off-the-beach classes held on the River Derwent on the first weekend of November each year.
The regatta is timed to provide a significant regatta prior to the Christmas activities of the classic "bluewater races" for the larger yachts and the national events for dinghies held over the Christmas holidays.
The Showdown coincides with a public holiday in the north of the state to make it easier for our northern residents to participate.
A live webcam will provide images of the event on shore plus a photo gallery will be updated daily during the event for pictures across the various courses. In addition there will be a continous stream of commentary from the race office allowing those that cannot make it in person to be a part of the action.
